African American Women as We Age
In
connection with its African American Women as We Age Program
(AAWA), NCNW conducted public education forums in 2005 in
Chicago, New Orleans, Houston, Los Angeles and Washington,
DC. Noted
experts in healthy living, financial planning and life satisfaction
provided valuable advice to up to 500 women in each city.
These forums were the catalyst for local level activities
in each
community. NCNW also introduced its new publication, "Tomorrow
Begins Today: African American Women as We Age."
In 2007, during the months of April and May, NCNW targeted
four cities for AAWA Community Forums. The proposed cities were: New York, NY; Miami, FL; Oakland, CA; and Philadelphia, PA.
NCNW's
book: "Tomorrow Begins Today: African American Women As
We Age" is now featured on AMAZON.com's Search Inside The
Book Program. This reference tool allows you to examine the book’s
front cover, table of contents, index, concordance, text statistics,
back cover and read excerpts. NCNW is very pleased to be part
of this exciting program and encourages everyone to visit Amazon.com and make use of this valuable reference tool.
