Economic and Entrepreneurial Development Center
The Economic and Entrepreneurial Development
Center (EED Center) is the center within NCNW responsible for
providing
women with technical assistance to establish and maintain businesses
and encourage economic empowerment as a means of combating women's
poverty. This center is to enable participants to gather information
about federal, state and local resources available to women of
African descent and to introduce self-help informational guidelines
to get more out of the money they earn.
The EED Center will be staffed and supported by nationally renowned business experts, recognized academic scholars, representatives from corporate America and a host of others. In addition, the EED Center will conduct training and development seminars, and provide technical advice on business and economic development, financial planning and securing financing.
The Economic/Entrepreneurial Development Center will provide comprehensive educational and training services to its participants. These services will include: individualized plans for each participant which will be developed based on an assessment of their economic and financial knowledge, ability, interest and skills; consumer education courses such as housing workshops will be offered to assist in transition from renting to home-ownership; and entrepreneurial education and training.
Please note that while the EED Center is not currently operational, it is anticipated that it will become so in the near future.
