Since NCNW was founded in 1935, our community-based sections have grown to include over 240 nationwide. Their diverse activities include a variety of health, education and economic empowerment programs and services. Our community-based sections address local needs while impacting communities nationwide through their volunteer efforts to improve conditions within their communities.
Among our community-based sections, NCNW has a number of college-based sections. Our collegiate sections nurture young female leaders and give them a chance to take part in NCNW's rich legacy of empowering women of African descent. They consist of young women, ages 19-25, who attend a college or university and are interested in the principles and mission of NCNW.
Our sections exemplify the unity and volunteerism that are at the heart of NCNW's values. Through their work on the front lines, they help us to lead, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities.
